Product Features
HW-702 shield V4.0 can be used as a driver expansion board for engraving machines and needs to be used in conjunction with Arduino NANO. There are three slots on the board for driving stepper motor modules, which can drive three stepper motors. Each stepper motor only requires two 10 ports, which means that six 10 ports can effectively manage the three stepper motors. It is very convenient to use and says goodbye to the tedious operation of traditional stepper motors. CNCshield V4.0 has introduced some GPI0 ports of Arduino NANO, making it convenient to connect other modules such as limit switches; It also introduces the 12C interface, which can be connected to the LC screen of the 12c interface. The input voltage should be between DC7.5V-12V, and do not exceed 12V during use.

1. Function of Arduino nano development board in this module
The Arduino nano development board mainly runs GRBL firmware in this module to compile G code and control motion. GRBL will be introduced later.
2. A4988 Driver Function Features
The A4988 driver is mainly used to drive stepper motors under the control of the Arduino nano development board.
Its main characteristics are:
Input voltage 8V-35V, maximum driving capacity 35V 2A;
Overheating shutdown circuit;
Grounding short circuit protection;
Load short-circuit protection;
Product Usage method
The specific usage method needs to be studied by readers. This article only briefly introduces some simple usage methods, hoping to achieve the effect of sparking further discussion.
Firstly, download the GBRL firmware for the development board. Grb is an embedded G-code compiler and motion controller designed for Arduino/AVR228 chips. Grbl is high-performance, low-cost, based on parallel motion control, used for CNC engraving. It can run on Vanilla Arduino (Duemillanove/Uno) as long as it is equipped with an Atme 328 chip. The controller is written and optimized in C, utilizing every agile feature of the AVR chip to achieve precise timing and asynchronous control. It can maintain stable and unbiased control pulses exceeding 30kHz. It accepts standard G-codes and has passed output tests of several CAM tools. The movements of arcs, circles, and spirals can be perfectly supported like some other basic G-code commands. Functions and variables are currently not supported, but will be included as preprocessors in future releases. Grbl includes complete prospective acceleration control. It means that the controller will plan the operating speed 16 to 20 movements in advance to achieve smooth acceleration and impact free turns.
