MAX7219 digital display control module
MAX7219 is an integrated serial input/output common cathode display driver that connects a microprocessor with an 8-bit 7-segment digital LED display, as well as a bar chart display or 64 independent LEDs. It includes an on-chip B-type BCD encoder, multi-channel scanning circuit, segment word driver, and an 8 * 8 static RAM for storing each data. There is only one external register used to set the segment current of each LED.
A convenient four wire serial interface can connect all general-purpose microprocessors. Each data can be addressed without rewriting all displays during updates. MAX7219 also allows users to choose whether to encode or not to encode each data.
The entire device includes a low-power shutdown mode of 150 μ A, analog and digital brightness control, a scan limit register that allows users to display 1-8 bit data, and a detection mode that causes all LEDs to light up.
Only 3 IO ports are needed to drive an 8-bit digital tube! There is no flicker when the digital tube displays! Support cascading!
The four corners of the PCB board are fixed with copper screws, which can effectively prevent accidents such as short circuits from occurring!
The digital tube is a 0.36-inch 4-digit integrated cathode digital tube
This module is compatible with 5V/3.3V microcontrollers (51/AVR/STM32...)
Wiring instructions (taking the provided program as an example, any IO port can be connected, and the port definition can be modified in the program):
VCC→5V
GND→GND
DIN→P00
CS →P01
CLK→P02
Product Matters needing attention
1. Never connect VCC and GND in reverse to avoid burning out the chip
2. 51 The P0 port of the microcontroller needs to be connected to a pull-up resistor. If your microcontroller is not connected to a pull-up resistor, you can connect the data cable to another port
