Instructions
Just debug USB-TTL on the computer. The power supply for this module is 5V-26V, with a recommended 5V 2A power supply. After plugging in the Arduino motherboard, the power supply must be able to provide 2A of current. The reason is that the GPRS Shield requires a large 2A startup current and multi peak operating current, but the USB port cannot provide such a large current, so an external power supply device must be connected. The other power supply port pin leads out 3.7-4.5V power supply, which is suitable for lithium battery power supply. Serial port compatible with Arduino microcontroller. TTL serial port compatible with 3.3 and 5V microcontrollers.
Ensure that your SIM card is not locked
The good baud rate for GPRS Shield communication is 19200 bps 8-N-1 (GPRS Shield default auto pairing baud rate)
Refer to the following diagram
2. SIM900 can be connected to any two pins of Arduino from D0 to D7 through jumper caps, not just limited to hardware UART using D0D1.
3. Debug toggle switch, which can be set to connect the debug port of SIM900 to Arduino or connect it to PC through ATMEGA8U2/FT232 on Arduino for debugging.
4. Audio and microphone vents are introduced.
5. Multiple IO ports of SIM900 can be connected using DuPont wires after pin placement if necessary - refer to the schematic diagram and datasheet for specific pins.
6. Three status indicator lights and three buttons - the power on button can be controlled by using Arduino pins to power on SIM900 software.
7. 3.3V and 5V automatic level compatibility, can adapt to 3.3V or 5V main control boards, supports other 3.3V platform development boards such as Leaf Maple and Chipkit.
The GPRS Shield is based on SIM900 module from SIMCOM and compatible with Arduino and its clones. The GPRS Shield provides you a way to communicate using the GSM cell phone network. The shield allows you to achieve SMS, MMS, GPRS and Audio via UART by sending AT commands (GSM 07.07 ,07.05 and SIMCOM enhanced AT Commands). The shield also has the 12 GPIOs, 2 PWMs and an ADC of the SIM900 module(They are all 2V8 logic) present onboard.
