Characteristics of a reed switch
Dry reed switch is the abbreviation for dry reed switch, which is a passive electronic switch component with contacts. It has the advantages of simple structure, small size and easy control. Its shell is usually a sealed glass tube, which contains two iron elastic reed plates and an inert gas called rhodium. Normally, the two springs made of special materials in the glass tube are separated. When a magnetic substance approaches the glass tube, under the action of magnetic field lines, the two spring plates inside the tube are magnetized and attracted to each other, causing the spring plates to merge together and connect the circuit connected to the node. After the external magnetic force disappears, the two spring leaves separate due to their own elasticity, and the circuit is also disconnected. Therefore, as a circuit switch device controlled by magnetic field signals, reed switches can be used as sensors for counting, limiting, etc. (mainly used in the production of door and window magnets in security systems), and are also widely used in various communication devices. In practical applications, magnets are usually used to control the connection between these two metal plates, so they are also known as "magnetrons".
Module usage instructions
1. The reed switch needs to be used in conjunction with a magnet. When a certain amount of magnetic force is sensed, it will be in a conductive state, and the module will output a low level. When there is no magnetic force, it will be in a disconnected state and output a high level. If the induction distance between the reed switch and the magnet is within 1.5cm, it will be insensitive or there will be no triggering phenomenon;
2. The DO output terminal of the module can be directly connected to the I/O port of the microcontroller, and the triggering status of the reed switch can be detected through the microcontroller;
3. The DO output terminal of the module is connected to the IN terminal of the relay to form a high-power reed switch, which directly controls high voltage.
