The MIC2544A and MIC2548A are integrated, high-sidepower switches optimized for low loss DC power switchingand other power management applications, includingConfiguration and Power Interface(ACPI)AdvancedThe MIC2544A/48A is a cost-effective, highly integratedsolution that requires few external components to satisfyUSB and ACPI requirements.

Load current management features include a precisionresistor-programmable output current-limit and a soft-startcircuit which minimizes inrush current when the switch isenabled. Thermal shutdown, along with current-limit.protects the switch and the attached device.

The MIC2544A/48A's open-drain flag output is used toindicate current-limiting or thermal shutdown to a localcontroller. The MIC2548A has an additional intemal latchwhich tumns the output off upon thermal shutdownproviding robust fault control. The enable signal iscompatible with both 3V and 5V logic, and is also used asthe thermal shutdown latch reset for the MIC2548AThe MIC2544A and MIC2548A are available in active-highand active-low enable versions in the 8-pin SOIC(small-outline integrated circuit) and 8-pin MSOP (micro-small-outline package).
