| Product Overview As a member of the SWIFT™ family of DC/DC regulators, TPS5450 is a high-output current PWM converter that integrates low-resistance, high-end N-channel MOSFETs. Along with the listed features are integrated on the chip: a high-performance voltage error amplifier for precise voltage regulation under transient conditions; an undervoltage lockout circuit that prevents start-up before the input voltage reaches 5.5 V; Internally set soft-start circuit to limit inrush current; and voltage feedforward circuitry for improved transient response. When using the ENA pin, the shutdown current can typically drop to 18 μA. Other features include high-level effective enable, overcurrent limiting, overvoltage protection, and thermal shutdown. To reduce design complexity and the number of external components, TPS5450 feedback loop is internally compensated. TPS5450 device is available in a thermally enhanced 8-pin SOIC PowerPAD™ package.
