Product Descriptions

The NB687 provides a complete one-chip power solution for DDR4 memory with the highest power density and is also compatible with DDR3/3L. The NB687 integrates a highfrequency, synchronous, rectified, step-down, switch-mode converter (VDDQ) with a 1A source LDO (VPP), 1A sink/source LDO (VTT), and buffered low-noise reference (VTTREF).

The NB687 operates at high efficiency over a wide output current load range based on MPS’s proprietary switching loss reduction technique and internal low RDS(ON) power MOSFETs.

Adaptive constant-on-time (COT) control mode provides fast transient response and easy loop stabilization. The DC auto-tune loop combined with the remote differential sense provides good load and line regulation.

The VPP LDO provides 1A of source current capability and requires only 47µF of ceramic capacitance. The VTT LDO provides 1A of sink/source current capability and requires only 22µF of ceramic capacitance. VTTREF tracks VDDQ/2 with excellent 1 PERCENT accuracy.

The NB687 also provides a S3/S5 mode operation combined with EN1/EN2 control.
